Dad's Health Update

Hi Everyone,

Just a note to let you know that my operation went OK today. I now have a new Pace-maker

and am good for another 7 years. I was operated on at 8 AM and the operation took

about one hour. Can't drive for a week.

Step 1: The Bikes

I have so much trust in Glenn Pawlak from Big Bang Bicycles in Pittsburgh, PA. These two Redline Conquest touring bikes were purchased sight unseen for our Ride for Jim TransAmerica tour this summer. I made a special trip to Pgh to get them. Here they are loaded on the back of my car and ready for the trip back to Richmond. It better not rain!

Dad's Health Update

just want to keep you all up-dated. was at the dr's today and got an up-date on my CT scan from last week. The news was GREAT. the tumor I had is just about all gone and everything else looks great. I feel good and have gained a little more weight. I will stay on Chemo for 3 more month.

Chemo went great. No, I did not behave myself with the nurses. Yes, I have gained 5 lbs. since I lost the 23 lbs.

I get my CT scan on 4/18 to see how I'm doing and will see Dr Zaman on 4/25 to find out the results. The results better be good.

A visit to my Big Dad

Hi Big Deb,      Why don't you plan to take mom home between 11/26 and 11/28. DROP HER OFF AND COME SPEND THE NIGHT WITH US AND GO BACK THE NEXT DAY.

Ok Big Dad here is an email explaining the deal with the dates over

Thanksgiving.

 

Scott and Erin will be driving here from State College on Friday,

November 19th and staying until Monday evening, November 22nd.

 

I will drive to York on Tuesday, November 23rd to get Mom to bring her

back down here for Thanksgiving.  I can either do the drive to

York/back to Richmond all on Tuesday or I can drive to see you on

Tuesday and pick Mom up Wednesday and drive back to Richmond on

Wednesday.

 

Then I will have to bring Mom back to York from Richmond sometime

between Friday, November 26th and Sunday, November 28th.  Again, I

could do the drive all in one day or I could drop her off, then come

see you and drive back the following day.

 

I think traffic-wise on I-95, it would probably be better if I saw you

sometime between November 26th and November 28th if that works for

you.  I would also be open to driving back to Richmond on Monday,

November 29th if I had to.

 

So do you want to talk to Kathy and see what day would be good to

visit?  And let me know if it would be possible to spend the night.

I'm thinking that I would get on the road really early the following

day to try to beat the holiday traffic.
